11/05/01	"GLORY AUCTION" For the first time since 5/22/01, the word "Glory" passed Sarah's lips. She announced the upcoming "Glory Auction" for Sept. 11 funds. She said that it started out as a small thing (probably with the Prada & other outfits/accessories Glory/Clare Kramer wore) and has grown as other celebrities have donated gowns and dresses. 9/7/01	Clare Kramer started shooting her role of ''Candice' in late Aug 2001 for '*The Rules of Attraction'.* 'Candice' is a secondary role, as in '*Bring It On'. The university 'romantic'(?) drama is written and directed by Roger Avary (Killing Zoe) and produced by Greg Shapiro at Kingsgate Films. Based on the 1987 (per our copy) novel by Bret Easton Ellis. RELEASE: Spring 2002. Jessica Biel* (7th Heaven, Summer Catch) is also in the film. [Marc Blucas (Riley) was also in 'Summer Catch', with Freddie Prinze, Jr. and Jessica as the stars. Poor Freddie was thoroughly and soundly out-acted by the talented and attractive Jessica. [Source of this quote was tracked to http://www.avary.com, (8/27/01 entry) on 2/7/02] We have a copy of this unreadable* book, but not the* screenplay: Candice has no lines in the book and is mentioned only about 6-8 times in a 218 page book. The book is written as if it were a play and each person mentally recalls a prior event period before another character is jumped to. Artsy and artificial. There is one page entirely in classroom French. *Candice is the only worthwhile character in the book.* The other 4 are thoroughly useless. Their only redeeming characteristics are as negative comparisons to Candice, whom several strive vainly to bed. The book is a quasi-porn & drug wallowing writing exercise that is so weak that the F-word phrasings are repeated word for word on facing pages. Only the equally pathetic movie The Big Leibowski was worse in this F-word quantity vocabulary contest. *Ripping out all the pages without Candice on them* *and rewriting it would be one way to make a workable* *screenplay, as Avary has hopefully done since he is* *credited with the screenplay.* *He must be one brave soul.*
