VIA ROMA:
DTLS stepped through the walk-thru
portal. She was aa bitearly.. She was wearing some sort of uniform that
looked like a strange one-piece
flight suit, except it was almost pale copper metallic in sheen. It had
the look of
something official.
There was a big "G" logo above her
left breast. "Don't ask." she laughed. "Glory makes us wear these when
we're on one of her ships. She's
seen too many Star Trek episodes lately.Though she may actually pull it
off.
Who'd have guessed all this that
night in the portal warehouse?"
She let us touch the uniform and admire the way her hair was pulled up in some version of a French do.
"I plan to stay at least five nights, if you don't mind. I have to be picked up here tomorrow by someone to go..."
Of course we had no objections to
that and went to clean up the mess in the guest bedroom before the
she decided to go in.
DTLS SAYS:
Buffy:
"Why is Michelle wearing those
jerseys with the numbers?"
"Didn't she wear a 07 at the beginning
?
"Hey, the 'G" on my uniform is
the 7th letter. Is she trying to tell us something."
"You know if you added each number
in this episode you'd get 12, an "L". GL-ory?"
Roswell:
"You say that the security chief
is from a past series called Millennium?"
"No wonder it's past..."
LATER:
DTLS informed us that one of the
visitors tomorrow was Kyle.
"Slayers are precocious that way.
Buffy was only 17. I guess I beat her then."
"I have to plan ahead. No travel
clothes, so I look like I'ms going nowhere."
"Buffy would have a fit. She still
thinks of me as a little girl. Especially since
that thing in the Hyperion Hotel
where Glory...she really thinks she's got to save
everyone..."
VIA ROMA:
Kyle came in by the other Isabel's
teleport plus portal, both at one time. She was almost an
outcast in Roswell now, except
for Kyle. So she was helping him and DTLS randezvous.
She was the only one with teleport
and Key Blood dimensonal portal capability that
would not be missed by Buffy.
Kyle and DTLS kissed and vanished for an hour or so into the guest bedroom.
Isabel talked with us for a long
time. She said she'd be back each day to see
if they were ready to return. We
took her shopping for shoes before she portaled back.
She's so hungry for affection it
hurts to see her glance down the hall to where
they are. She told us why DTLS
and Kyle called their adventures togethere "VIA
ROMA"
so we added that to this setction.
DTLS popped into the room accompanied
by the now-no-longer-pregnant Glory and her several months old god-girl.
This was not
via portal, but some sort of teleport.
Meaning they were already in our dimension, having portaled in elsewhere.
After we played with the baby and did the usual compliments, we noticed that Dawn was wearing slightly flared jeans, comfortable athletic name-brand shoes and an off-red long-sleeved ribbed top. Her hair was in a long fat complicated single braid. Glory was wearing loose pants in a busy white and black pattern. Her buttoned top was a typical black. It was buttoned to facilitate nursing.
As we already knew form many months ago the girl is named Gloriana, after our own Gloriana. There are only so many multiple-syllable Glory variants and she always liked this one.
We had brief talks with Clare when she morphed in several times, but she was busy doing something morphed out, what with her vastly different powers and role after the birth several months ago.
We deduced that they were still about 9-10 months ahead of our time line and they were reluctant to talk about events that might have too many parallels in our dimension. DTLS said that she realized our frustration with her Key/monk-derived handwriting, which was so far immune to magic, and was not going to send any more works until we got the one online before "Comprehension". That would be "The Twins - Sukkhal, the God-Killers".
DTLS SAYS:
Buffy:
"I liked this one better than the
two episodes last week. "
"Sarah and Michelle were sweet
together."
"I got the Buffy heaven & hell
conflict as code words for her 5 months on Glory's world, too."
"Why are they in denial about Glory
and me?"
Roswell:
"Lots of action and fancy flashbacks.
That's not the Roswell we were in last year though."
"Where's Lonnie?"
"When is their Tess going to reappear?"
"How can his son be contacting
him when he was born only a few months ago?"
GLORY SAYS:
Buffy:
"I liked Anya's pants. Takes a
brave soul to wear vertical stripes."
"Why would anyone watch such an
inaccurate show?"
Roswell:
"I thought the Jesse guy was wrong
for Isabel. He's a poor actor also."
CLARE SAYS:
Buffy:
"I was busy. Was I supposed to
be watching or taking notes?"
Roswell:
"I see the resemblance of the blonde
Isabel to me sometimes, She's a big girl though."
LATER:
They stayed for many hours afterward.
We got to watch Glory or Clare play a lot with the baby, Gloriana.
The little god-girl is apparently
growing faster than a normal child. Like Glory, she doesn't
have to ... ever. So there are
no diaper changings. After midnight, they teleported out to
wherever they were in our dimension
earlier.
DTLS stepped into the room with no sound, just like she writes in her works. Behind her was a disappearing roughly oval Step-Thru dimensional portal opening that shrank to nothing in seconds. She was smaller than you'd think, but wore boots with heels to increase her height. Her long, long brown hair was something else. This night she wore a pair of faux leather pants, red in color, with a black crocheted duster over a white tank top. Curupira was right behind her in her slinky green body suit.
In spite of her size, DTLS dominated the room. Her smile was radiant. "Ready," she said, "I can only stay for the two hours or so. Big things back in... no": she laughed, "not Sunnydale. A far, far away place. We're at war there, too, but not just on earth." She sat down in the chair and asked for a pen. "I'll take down my thoughts as it goes and you two can edit them for spelling and grammar, if you can read them."
Curupira never sat down, but wandered about the house, looking at everything and opening up everything. "She's nosy, it's her nature and Tess'. Yeah, she'll morph for you before we leave. Got any popcorn ? Great."
"Is it really only early October 2001 here?" Dawn asked. "It's late summer 2002 back home. The difference in time passage rates is beginning to be a nuisance when we jump here."
The first words DTLS wrote were UPN Season 6, episodes 1 & 2 Review, By Dawn the Last Slayer for gloryisagod.com. "Here we go," she said. "Lets see what crimes against my dimension have been committed this summer by the writers and what's leaked through, if any."
DTLS SAYS:
"I liked the second part better
than the first, but the Bot was good in both."
"Michelle did a couple of tear-jerking
scenes with the Bot."
"Didn't like the demon bikers at
all. Too crude and that rape talk was all wrong."
"Sarah did a great job as the Bot
and as the spaced-out resurrected Buffy."
"There was one whiny Dawn scene
and she did several stupid things, just when she
was showing her more adult side
the rest of the time."
"You already knew that Anya would
get the magic shop."
"Willow as the powerhouse is laughable."
"Destroying the tower at the end
was symbolic that they were pretending that last season and
Glory never happened. Fat chance!"
"Why did they have Dawn dismiss
her Key power as gone and of no value. Big mistake."
"They also missed the boat on me
becoming the Slayer and all the portal opening
and merging consequences. Michelle
would be fun to watch learning to be a Slayer."
"And never showing Glory or even
mentioning her name was not just noticeable, it was bizarre."
"How can you two give such high
overall ratings with these problems?"
CURUPIRA SAYS:
"Why is everyone so weak and unable
to defend themselves without Buffy?"
"Didn't you say, Dawn, that Willow
had a barrier spell that lasted for most of a day? Why didn't she
use it to either protect them or
to corral the demons?"
LATER
Curupira morphed to Tess for us. Dawn said they'd try
to let us know if they could come in for the
Roswell first new episode, and that'd be also for the
next Buffy one. "No promises, we'll try." They left
without using a drop of Key blood. "Once we come through
one way, the barrier between dimensions
is weak for awhile and we can just go through with only
a spell. Bye, kids!"
